Pure silk shirt with grotesque print
Description and details
More than a shirt, a work of art! It is worth noting that this type of pattern, the most common in silk scarves, besides being created from an original hand-drawn design, has a long history with roots in antiquity. Grotesque decorations have Renaissance origins and became very fashionable again during the Neoclassical period. They are characterized by the depiction of hybrid and monstrous beings, chimeras, often portrayed as slender and whimsical figures that blend into geometric and naturalistic decorations, structured symmetrically on a generally white or otherwise monochrome background. The predominantly imaginative and playful illustration does not always serve a purely ornamental function, but sometimes also carries a didactic and encyclopedic purpose, reproducing inventories of arts and sciences. Therefore, this shirt is a true masterpiece to wear. The buttons are shiny and slightly opalescent. The cut is loose and very fluid. The silk is of extraordinary quality, with a full and substantial feel. It looks fabulous when worn.
